When Do ACCA Exam Results Come Out?
Waiting for ACCA results is nerve-wracking. Here's roughly when they're released after each session, why some come instantly and others take weeks, and where to check.
When your results arrive depends on which exam you sat. The on-demand Applied Knowledge computer-based exams are marked automatically, so you get your result almost immediately. The Applied Skills and Strategic Professional exams, which include written and human-marked elements, are released a few weeks after the exam session. Exact dates are published by ACCA for each session, so always check the official results date for yours.
Why some are instant and others aren't
Applied Knowledge exams are objective, computer-marked tests, so the system can score them on the spot. Applied Skills and Strategic Professional exams contain constructed-response questions — written answers and calculations that require marking and quality review — which is why they take longer. The wait reflects genuine human marking against a scheme, not a delay for its own sake.
Where to check your result
Results are posted to your myACCA account and, if you've opted in, sent by email or SMS on results day. ACCA publishes the results date for each session well in advance, so you'll know exactly when to look. You'll see your mark out of 100, with 50 being the pass mark.
If it doesn't go your way
A fail isn't the end — most students fail at least one exam along the way. What matters is diagnosing why. A near-miss in the mid-40s is almost always a technique gap, not a knowledge gap, and it's very fixable once you can see where the marks went.
